The history of creation a super-penalty has begun with demonstration on the Tokyo Motor show of 1999 of conceptual car EB 18/3 «Chiron» with the 6,3-liter 555-strong motor constructed under formula W18 with three blocks on 6 cylinders. The design concept car was developed by the Italian studio ItalDesign Dzhorzhetto Dzhudzharo (Giorgetto Giugiaro).
